Community Practitioners Series

The Community Practitioner Series aims to promote resiliency among health care professionals.

Practitioners may complete each training individually for free CEUs and/or complete the entire series for a Certificate of Completion in Workforce Wellness and Resiliency.

CEUs are available for professionals in Nursing, Counseling, Social Work, and Pharmacy.

This training discusses emotions and how they impact us. Learners examine the definition of an emotion from a neurological lens and how emotions connect to thoughts and behaviors. This training provides evidence-based skills to recognize and manage emotions that help individuals work towards wellness and maintaining a positive outlook on life. We share our evidence-based toolkit so learners can use skills beyond the training.

This training examines the impact of stress on the body and brain and helps individuals recognize stress and manage stressful situations, introducing skills such as time management and breathing for individuals to use in the workplace. Individuals will identify how they may integrate these skills into their practice for navigating stressful and overwhelming situations. We share our evidence-based toolkit so learners can use skills beyond the training.

This training will define and discuss self-care and self-care techniques. By providing self-care information, individuals will learn the importance of self-care. Individuals will be reminded of the dimensions of wellness and definition of well-being. They will gain evidence-based tools and interventions to improve their well-being and mental health. We will share our evidence-based toolkit so you can use skills past the training.

Dr. Aidyn Iachini is the Principal Investigator for the HOPE-WWR Project. She oversees delivery of grant objectives and outcomes to include the development and implementation of training materials. She also leads our comprehensive evaluation plan, focusing on Rapid Cycle Quality Improvement, to assess the effectiveness of the project, track progress toward grant goals, and make necessary adjustments to achieve deliverables.

Scott Fairweather is a co-trainer for the HOPE-WWR Community Practitioner series. Fairweather is a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Clinician and holds certifications in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention. He also carries the Master Addiction Counselor designation.

COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS
This program has been pre-approved for 1.5 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.

NURSING
Mid-Carolina AHEC is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the South Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This nursing continuing education activity has been approved for 1.5 hours.

SOCIAL WORKERS
This program has been approved by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners for 1.5 clock hours of social work continuing education.

PHARMACY
The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Detailed instructions on how to claim CPE credit will be provided.
